The National Association of Broadcasters Joins Forces With SmartBrief to Launch a Web-Based, Opt-In Daily E-mail News Summary, Already Reaching More Than 11,000 Subscribers

NOVEMBER 27, 2006 -- SmartBrief, Inc., the leading electronic business news aggregation service,
and the National Association of Broadcasters have launched NAB SmartBrief, a concise, comprehensive news briefing of the day’s top stories affecting the radio and TV business, delivered each weekday to NAB members and associates. More than 11,000 broadcast industry executives and professionals now subscribe to the NAB SmartBrief email newsletter, which offers a summary of and link to the most significant print, online and broadcast news, as well as industry trend stories. The NAB SmartBrief is designed to help broadcasters stay abreast of new technology, programming, advertising and other critical industry developments, including key legislative and regulatory issues. The NAB SmartBrief also serves as an important vehicle for members to learn about the association’s key issues, conferences and industry events.

The NAB email newsletter marks SmartBrief’s 50th partnership with a national association or professional society since the company launched its first brief in January 2000. Each SmartBrief is created in association with leading trade associations and professional societies. The organizations’ members must sign up to continue receiving the ad-supported briefs, which are offered to subscribers at no charge. Specialized editors, utilizing proprietary technology, produce content customized for each industry that is highly targeted and relevant to the reader.

“NAB is an important addition to our growing list of association partners,” said SmartBrief President and CEO Rick Stamberger. “It is a dynamic organization clearly focused on its industry’s future, and the NAB SmartBrief will help its members and associates stay on top of a rapidly changing media marketplace, and identify new trends -- without having to read through numerous publications each day.”

“We chose SmartBrief as the partner for our daily email newsletter because they have established a strong track record and have gained the trust of a number of other leading trade associations,“ said NAB Executive Vice President of Media Relations Dennis Wharton. “The NAB SmartBrief allows us to offer a high quality product that meets our members’ needs, while saving us significant time, staffing and financial resources. It’s a great way for us to be even more relevant and connect with our members each day.”
