Massages, classes, therapy sessions, bedtime reading materials and intimate dining are among ingredients of a Happiness in the City Package being offered through 2018 by the St. James's Hotel and Club in London. The luxury property has teamed with an elite massage service and the School of Life to provide what it markets as a respite from the hubbub of the city.
The luxury sector can take a lesson from lifestyle hotels that have attracted guests by offering unique experiences. "The new luxury hotel is defined by the offering of high-quality, one-of-a-kind hotel experiences, which focus on what is important to the guest whilst forgoing the superfluous," said Guy Cooke of WATG Strategy.
The Gant in Aspen, Colo., strikes a balance between condo residence and hotel. "So in a hotel, [if] you've got 100 rooms, you've got 100 rooms, but here we have 100 rooms except for those that the owners are in, so then your [availability] goes down because those units aren't available," said Donnie Lee, general manager.

The Line Hotel in downtown Austin, Texas, has scheduled an October opening for Dean's One Trick Pony, a casual burger restaurant and bar named for the manager of a hotel nightclub that occupied the site in the 1960s. The Line's flagship restaurant, Arlo Grey, debuted in June, and a rooftop eatery, P6, is set to open next year.

Solar facilities developer and operator KDC Solar LLC has started construction of the solar photovoltaic system planned at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey.
