Last week, we asked: Does your company measure employee engagement on CSR?
- No, we don’t measure employee leadership in sustainability — 51%
- No, we don’t measure but we do actively encourage employee involvement — 21%
- Yes, we have a specific section in the performance review devoted to CSR — 14%
- Only if you mean allocating work hours for volunteering — 12%
- Yes, we match employee initiative with monetary incentives — 2%
Campbell Soup measures employee engagement on CSR by assigning specific standards. Employees who exceed standards are expected to show the return on investing in their project, giving them real power to innovate. But from this poll, conflicting trends emerge: With over 70% of respondents saying they don’t track employee engagement on CSR, there are definitely outliers — almost 20% — who go above and beyond to encourage employee leadership. Disturbingly, though, almost 12% believe that offering volunteering opportunities is enough CSR for their company.
