Brands have a new way to monitor their reach to fans on Facebook through the admin panel with Facebook’s recent introduction of Timeline for Pages. In the admin panel, brands can see what content is interesting to fans and understand the conversations surrounding the content. The newest feature Facebook released for brand pages enables brands to view the percentage of fans that are reached for every piece of content posted on the page. At the bottom of each post, brands can see the percentage of fans that have been reached without having to calculate the percentage from the insight section of the admin panel.

According to Facebook, the average post on a brand page only reaches about 16% of its fans — not as high as most brands would like. This new feature, available to brand pages only, is a quick and easy way to see how many fans view what your brand posts, and it can also help you decide what types of content to engage fans with in the future.

In this episode of the “Future of Engagement,” Murray Newlands takes a look at the recently released feature and discusses the conversation surrounding it and what it can do for your brand.
