Education

We are better together. We are better for students when we work together to develop lessons. Students benefit when we share our favorite resources. Classes are more fun when we learn about ways to use technology to integrate our lesson. We lift one another up when we tweet about the positive aspects of our profession.

Twitter is a lot of fun to use. We all enjoy sharing resources we think could be helpful for colleagues or students. We each have our own content passions and promote subject matter we think is great for kids. Everyone seems to love using Twitter to read about and share favorite content, pedagogy and technology resources, at any time from anywhere.

We spend our days facing the everyday challenges of our profession. We often wrap up our nights watching the news and listening to a trending attitude toward our profession that is far from uplifting. The last thing we need is to look at our Twitter feed and read about the same challenges.

Let’s turn our Twitter feeds into an escape of upbeat interaction and leading-edge professional development. Let’s work together to try to make people who follow us a little better at what they do and a little happier about their career. Let’s make it our goal to use Twitter to make one another better at our profession.

When we have something to share that we think will help followers deliver a better lesson or have something uplifting to share, let’s conclude our tweet with #BetterTogether.

I know most of us try to do this anyway, but let’s see what happens when we are so explicit about what we are sharing that we label the reason for our tweet.
