Two weeks ago, we asked SmartBrief on Entrepreneurs readers, “How do you think your 2010 business travel will compare with 2009?”
And here’s what they said:
- 33.48% — Less travel
- 29.02% — More travel
- 28.12% — About the same
- 9.38% — I don’t travel for business
It wasn’t a surprise that readers were almost equally split on their business-travel plans for 2010 — some planning to increase their travel, some to decrease it and some to stay about the same as in 2009. Those results track with ongoing reports of an uneven recovery and uncertainty over the future of the economy.
The big surprise was that nearly 10% said they don’t travel for business. I find it very hard to believe that so many people never attend a conference or trade show and never make a sales or purchasing trip away from home.
