SmartPulse — our weekly nonscientific reader poll in SmartBrief for CFOs — tracks feedback from leading CFOs and senior finance executives. We run the poll question each Wednesday in our e-newsletter.
Last week, we asked: Is your company in the cloud?
- No, and we don’t see the value — 40.32%
- What’s the cloud? — 24.19%
- Yes — 20.97%
- No, but we will be by the end of the year — 14.52%
Partly cloudy: With the potential for significant cost and operational benefits, these results seemed very surprising. Only 21% of respondents say their companies are in the cloud, with about 15% anticipating being there by year’s end. That leaves more than 64% who saw no value or didn’t know about cloud computing. CFO magazine recently noted the confusion among CFOs about the cloud.
