Today’s bonus tracks: Meet Huffbook

The Huffington Post’s new social media feature, HuffPost Social News, has the potential to change journalism forever, writes Chadwick Matlin. The new section uses Facebook Connect to collect and display information about what users are reading, and in turn allows them to see what stories their friends are into. For now, that info is all kept in a special section of the Huffington Post’s site– but someday a news organization may go all in and report their readership data directly to Facebook. “Once there’s a critical mass of activity coming into Facebook from elsewhere on the Internet, the roles change—Huffington Post isn’t the first-stop news portal on the Web; Facebook is,” he writes.
