Google’s success as a search engine — it controls 60% of the search market — can overshadow the company’s hundreds of other products and services. With the company’s 4.5 billion regular users conducting over 2.3 million searches every second and about 2 trillion searches each year, it’s perhaps unsurprising that products like AdMob or Waze are lesser known. But they command just as much influence on the Internet. And for every success, there are also failures, like the time Google tried to compete with Facebook and Twitter with Google Buzz and Jaiku.
