News about new food products caught the eyes of readers this week, particularly new lines from companies including Campbell Soup, Red Bull and Chobani. “Snackable soups” were added to Campbell Soup’s recently introduced line of Well Yes! Soups, Red Bull is rolling out its Organics by Red Bull soft-drink line on Amazon and in two US regions, and Chobani will debut squeeze pouches this year as part of the company’s goal to bring yogurt into new categories. “We want people to use it for cooking,” said President Tim Brown.

Taco Bell’s announcement that it’s bringing its sauce flavors to the snack aisle this May with the launch of tortilla chips in three varieties also spurred reader interest. “This launch of our first line of sauce packet-inspired chips gives our fans a new way to access a taste of Taco Bell,” said Chief Brand Officer Marisa Thalberg.

In other top news, NECCO said it may need to lay off close to 400 workers and close its Massachusetts manufacturing plant unless a buyer comes forward for the company by May 6.
