Procter & Gamble’s plan to revamp its leadership structure and streamline its business units from 10 to six by next summer caught SmartBrief readers’ eyes this week. Other packaged goods companies made the news as well, including Kellogg which won readers with stories about the launch of its Hi! Happy Inside cereal and the possible sale of a cookie division that includes Keebler, Stretch Island and Famous Amos.
News that plant-based Impossible Burgers would roll out at grocery stores next year proved popular as well. The burgers have thus far been available only in restaurants and foodservice, and consumers have been clamoring for the chance to buy them at the supermarket, said Patrick Brown, CEO of Impossible Foods.
Restaurants also made news this week. Chick-fil-A’s national delivery partnership with DoorDash made this week’s top 10 list, and a story about the Labor Department’s reaffirmation of the rules regarding tip credits also resonated with readers.
